Alisma subcordatum

This is normally an emergent species growing in shallow, calm waters. It does sometimes grow slightly above the water line in constantly wet soils. It produces numerous very small, white flowers on a large, whorled panicle. The seeds are very attractive to waterfowl and other wildlife.
